Stuettgen, Joseph B.; stone # 246 (6 and 9 entries above); location: K-6; b. 1894, d. 1970; VS comments: "Joe Stuettgen, Norbert Stuettgen's dad, and my uncle, James Sennott, worked up the cemetery to get it more like a lawn because it was growing up with brush and everything. The cows would often graze on the grass and sometimes break off some of the headstones. When Mrs. Vogel [of Pfister and Vogel Tannery, Milwaukee,] moved out to Lake Five she saw the cows in the cemetery and didn't think it was right. She purchased the heavy, black, iron fence that surrounded the old part of the cemetery. People kept running their cars into the fence from time-to-time, and it was finally taken out. The chain link fence that they have now still has several dents in it from cars crashing into it."
